Property Description
Right outside Yellowstone, quiet mountain resort location in Gallatin River Canyon, 2 outstanding restaurants, rafting, hiking, horseback riding, blue ribbon fishing. A memorable Montana experience. You'll discover a friendly, inviting atmosphere the moment you step through our doors. A warm welcoming blaze in the stone hearth, big game trophies, and antique sporting gear hint at our beginnings as a hunting and fishing lodge. Experience the best in western hospitality during your stay. After an exhilarating day enjoying Montana's scenic beauty, slip into our relaxing outdoor spas or simply sit back and enjoy majestic mountain views of the mountain ranges just outside your window. All rooms have been remodeled as of December 2005. All rooms have microwave/refrigerator, free wireless Internet access, irons and ironing boards, hairdryers, and iPod docking stations. Our hotel is 100% non-smoking. All rates include a full hot breakfast buffet. We have two outstanding restaurants. The nationally recognized Buck's T-4 Restaurant offers wild game, hand-cut steaks, and daily specialties. Buck's Pub serves up hearty and delicious dinners like our nut-crusted whitefish, fiery-crusted pork chop or homemade wild game meatloaf, as well as piled-high sandwiches and the thickest, juiciest burgers in Big Sky. A summer vacation to Big Sky offers many unique opportunities to enjoy the Montana experience. Located in the Gallatin National Forest and adjacent to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky is ideally situated for a variety of summer recreational activities. Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and blue ribbon trout fishing all contribute to a summer vacation you'll never forget. Whitewater rafting and a two-story climbing wall are available right here at the lodge at Geyser Whitewater's Outdoor Recreation Center, and fly-fishing guiding service is less than a mile away. Make a visit to the Big Sky Ski and Summer Resort and ride up Lone Peak on the Gondola.

  • Directions
ˇFrom: Bozeman Airport. From the Airport driveway, turn right and head toward the town of Belgrade. Pass through "downtown" Belgrade, then turn left (south) onto US Highway 191 (about one mile from Belgrade). There will be a sign directing you to Big Sky. You will stay on 191 for about 45 miles. When approaching Big Sky, you will come to an intersection with a flashing yellow traffic light. Proceed through this intersection, and the lodge will be about one mile south, on the right side of the road. US 191 winds through the Gallatin Canyon, following the Gallatin River. There can be wildlife on the road at night (most often around sunset), so use caution and stay alert. ˇFrom: Jackson, WY. In the summer, you can come one of two ways. Driving through Yellowstone Park is a little slower, but much more scenic. For the faster route, see the winter directions below. Take US 26 north from Jackson to US 89. Proceed through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, past Old Faithful to Madison Junction. Turn left (west) and proceed to West Yellowstone, MT. Turn right (north) onto US 191 and proceed 45 miles to Big Sky. The lodge will be on your left. Yellowstone is closed to wheeled vehicles in the winter. For winter directions, take WY 22 west out of Jackson over Teton Pass to Victor, ID. Turn right (north) on ID 32 to Ashton, ID. Continue through Ashton to US 20. Turn right (north) and proceed to West Yellowstone, MT. Turn left (north) on US 191 and proceed 45 miles to Big Sky. ˇ From: Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone has five entrances, or gates. The closest is the west entrance at West Yellowstone, MT. US 191 is the only road leading out of West Yellowstone to the north. The lodge is on US 191, about 45 miles from West Yellowstone. The road will cross into the park's border about 12 miles from West Yellowstone, and will cross back out about 12 miles south of Big Sky. The route is incredibly scenic, so be on the lookout for wildlife and photo opportunities. ˇFrom: The north entrance (Gardiner, MT). Take US 89 north from Gardiner about 60 miles to Livingston, MT. Get onto I-90 west to Bozeman, MT (about 20 miles). Exit the interstate at Belgrade, about 5 miles west of Bozeman. Turn left (south) on to US 191. Proceed about 45 miles to Big Sky. See the above directions from the airport for details. Bozeman/Gallatin Field Airport 50 miles
