In 1909, through an act of spirited generosity, the Vanderbilt family provided this impressive property as a cherished gift to the people of Newport, Rhode Island. Another landmark in the history of Vanderbilt Hall Hotel has since been completed: its transformation into a unique hotel for you to enjoy as our personal guests in this grand, yet comfortable, house. As you step through the column framed front door of Vanderbilt Hall Hotel, you will be welcomed into one of our many delightful public rooms, including the Main Hall and Conservatory. All rooms are individually styled using designer selected fabrics, an eclectic mix of antique and comfortable furniture, interesting artwork, and fine Egyptian cotton linens. Each room has a private bathroom, cable television, air conditioning and high speed internet.

One Bedroom Suite:
One Bedroom Suite Includes Complimentary Afternoon Tea Choose from a suite with a King, four-poster bed and 14-foot ceilings, or a Queen bedded two-level suite. Each One Bedroom Suite has a separate sitting area with a murphy bed or pull-out couch, and a second bathroom. Rooms are individually designed using a mix of themes and styles to suit a variety of personal tastes and to create true comfort.
Cornelius Suite:
The Cornelius Suite Includes Complimentary Afternoon Tea For a truly memorable occasion, you can enjoy the luxurious surroundings of our largest suite, the Cornelius Suite. As you enter the room, you find a large drawing room with a working fireplace, a table with four chairs, a desk and a sofa. There are built-in bookcases with antique books. The main bedroom has a magnificent four poster bed, large armoire, dresser and a small dressing room. The bathroom is spacious with a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. This suite has 14-foot ceilings and is located off the Main Hall of the Hotel.
Heritage Room:
Elegant King Bedded Suite, private bath 14 Foot Ceilings and Sitting Area For a special visit, you may prefer our more elegant accommodations. These stunning rooms have King-sized beds, 14 foot celings, with a detailed architectural design. The rooms have spacious bathrooms; some with a jacuzzi tub/separate shower or claw foot tub/separate shower. All rooms are individually designed using a mix of themes and styles to suit a variety of personal tastes and to create true comfort.
Junior Suite:
Junior Suite with Separate Sitting Area Includes Complimentary Afternoon Tea The smallest of our suites, situated on the second and fourth floors, these adorable rooms are furnished with a King-sized bed and have a separate sitting area, with a couch, TV and writing desk. Rooms are individually designed using a mix of themes and styles to suit a variety of personal tastes and to create true comfort.
Jr. Study Room:
Jr Study Queen Room with Small Loft Sky lit study area, Includes Afternoon Tea This charming room is perfect for the single/business traveler. These unique bi-level rooms are located on the third floor of the hotel. Each study offers a Queen-sized bed with a spiral staicase leading to a sky-lit study. Rooms are individually designed using a mix of themes and styles to suit a variety of personal tastes and to create true comfort.
Regency Suite:
The Regency Suite Includes Complimentary Afternoon Tea This is our second largest suite. The room is beautifully appointed in rich shades of green, with a king four-poster bed, chaise lounge, large antique armoire, dresser and full-length movable mirror. The bathroom is spacious with a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Off the main bedroom is a small office with a desk, two chairs and a second TV; there is also a second entrance in to the hallway from this office.
Traditional Room:
Traditional King or Queen room w/private bath Includes Complimentary Afternoon Tea These beautifully appointed rooms have either a King, Queen or two Full beds, with fine Egyptian cotton linens and personal touches. Rooms are individually designed using a mix of themes and styles to suit a variety of personal tastes and to create true comfort. Some of these bathrooms have Jacuzzi tubs or twin basins. Rooms are furnished with an armoire, dresser and an oversized comfortable chair. Views are available of historic 18th century Trinity Church and the historic hill or the harbour.

From the North and East: Boston, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Cape Cod. Take Route 24 South-follow Route 24 until it becomes Route 114 South-follow Route 114 South into downtown Newport until you can go no further. At the traffic light turn left onto Thames Street-continue straight for approximately 50 yards-take first left onto Mary Street-Vanderbilt Hall Hotel will be on your right, one block up. From the South: New Jersey, New York, Connecticut. Take Interstate 95 North to Rhode Island exit 3-Route 138 East-follow this for approximately 35 miles-follow signs for Jamestown and Newport Bridges and continue over the Newport Bridge. Take the exit marked Scenic Newport, turn right at the bottom of the ramp-proceed straight to the second traffic light and bear left-this is Thames Street. Continue straight through the next set of lights for approximately 150 yards-take first left onto Mary Street- Vanderbilt Hall Hotel will be on your right, one block up. From the West: Upstate New York and The Berkshires. Take Interstate 90 east to Route 146 South to Interstate 95 South to Route 4-left exit-take Route 138 and follow signs for Jamestown and Newport Bridges and continue over the Newport Bridge. Take the exit marked Scenic Newport, turn right at the bottom of the ramp-proceed straight to the second traffic light and bear left-this is Thames Street. Continue straight through the next set of lights for approximately 150 yards-take first left onto Mary Street- Vanderbilt Hall Hotel will be on your right, one block up. From T.F. Green Airport and Providence: Take Interstate 95 South to Route 4-left exit-take 138 and follow signs for Jamestown and Newport Bridges and continue over the Newport Bridge. Take the exit marked Scenic Newport, turn right at the bottom of the ramp-proceed straight to the second traffic light and bear left-this is Thames Street.
