Located in a national registered historic landmark building, 500 WEST is situated in the heart of downtown San Diego. Adjacent to the San Diego Bay, 500 WEST is just steps from Little Italy, the historic Gaslamp entertainment district, Horton Plaza shopping, Seaport Village and the cruise ship terminal. The San Diego Convention Center is a short 5 -10 minute walk from our door step. It is an ideal location for the independent savvy traveler and long term guests. A recently completed multi-million dollar renovation has restored many of the beautiful features of this 1924 landmark building. It is noted that Charles Lindbergh once stayed at the hotel while his airplane, the Spirit of St. Louis, was being constructed across the bay in Coronado. As guests walk through the doors they are greeted with a sense of synergy and the feeling they have found a true inner city retreat. Our living room style lobby is tastefully appointed with contemporary furnishings and is an ideal place for casual conversations.
