The Inn has a long history of playing host to important meetings, exciting events, spectacular weddings and romantic weekend escapes. Casual Upscale dining is available at the Inn which can be enjoyed inside or out on our Terrace overlooking historic Harrison Street. In addition to our beautiful guest rooms and suites the inn features a Salon and Spa. -FROM 04OCT06 to Mid-November06- The hotel is currently undergoing extensive construction in the kitchen and dining room areas in preparation for the opening of Restaurant Local and Decanter Wine Room in mid-November 2006. Food service is unavailable during this time -Completion dates are subject to change- There are several great restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel The hotel assures that it will make every effort to minimize construction noise and related disturbance.

Opening in November 2006, the Tidewater Inn is pleased to present the Restaurant Local and the Decanter Wine Room at the historic inn. A creation of Chef Richard Hamilton, the Restaurant Local will feature an exquisite culinary menu with a comfortable and welcoming decor highlighted by antique walnut floors and fabric ceilings designed in the configuration of a sail. The distressed furniture and bright, comfortable chairs will also bring a warm with a touch of wow feeling for the dining guests. The state of the art kitchen will be preparing cuisine that includes the best in local produce and ingredients, all with an American flair. The Decanter Wine Room will be a room within a room, featuring all glass walls and an italian barrel roll ceiling with intimate seating at a beautiful custom-built hardwood table. Over 2000 wine selections, Including many speciality wines not typically available in the region, will be stored in this glass environment visible from the restaurant. The Restaurant Local and the Decanter Wine Room will be the perfect setting for intimate dinners and wine tastings, celebrations, truly innovative special events, and world-class fine dining.
