Discovering the treasures of our beautiful island begins right away, with a walk through our beautifully manicured garden filled with meticulously chosen local plants and flowers designed to give our guests a peaceful and relaxing oasis in the heart of the Historic District. From that moment on, you will begin to feel enveloped in the relaxed sophistication and comfortable luxury of the inn. In addition to the friendly service, you will appreciate the attention to detail and the devotion to your comfort, at every turn. Our small, sophisticated inn, once a typical whaling captains home, is now a unique collection of suites, all recently renovated with a refreshing new eye, created to offer each guest the utmost in privacy and luxury. Once you have been greeted in our hand painted foyer, created by one of our local artists, you will be escorted to the private entrance of your suite. Every guest enters their personal haven, an elegantly appointed suite, through a deck or patio right outside their living room door. All of our accommodations boast generous proportions and a full array of hand picked treasures. Our Studios and One and Two Bedroom Suites are individually designed and decorated with a collection of Country, American and English furnishings. Step into your bedroom to find a mountain of plump pillows piled high atop a bed dressed with the finest linens from all all over the world. As you settle in, help yourself to complimentary bottled water or coffee while you leaf through the Nantucket Guide Book, local paper and area maps provided for you. Fluffy towels and Le Source soap and bath gel await you, as well as plush terry bathrobes for your use while you stay with us. Each room has a hair dryer, steam iron and ironing board. Beach towels will also be provided throughout your stay. Accommodations are filled with all of the latest technological touches, just enough to keep you up to date with the most happening events on the mainland, flat screen televisions, DVD and video players, stereos with compact disc and tape players, private telephone number and answering machine, cordless speaker phone, and wireless internet service- no details have been overlooked. Our members only collection of books, video tapes or compact discs are at your disposal, or bring your own favorites. Each Suite includes a deluxe wet bar, a handmade wood cabinet that houses your refrigerator, instant hot water tap, coffee maker, microwave and toaster oven. Indulge yourself with a late breakfast or afternoon cocktails, relaxing in your own private indoor or outdoor space. Upon request, a variety of Lite Bite baskets can be ordered and delivered to your suite prior to your arrival, or by arrangement for your enjoyment, anytime during your stay. In addition, we are glad to be able to offer our guests the ability to send or receive faxes, make copies, and check their e-mail. Additional charges may apply. Although it may be tempting to remain in your suite, most guests do venture out to partake in the many splendid activities Nantucket has to offer. Rent bicycles, four wheel drive vehicles or mopeds a block or two away, and travel to any remote corner of this magical island. In the evening, take a stroll around the corner for dinner, choosing from the many fine restaurants Nantucket has to offer. Our Guest Services coordinator will be happy to assist you in making arrangements for all types of exciting adventures prior to your arrival, or once you are on island. We have plenty of suggestions and recommendations to offer you. For those seeking even more privacy, additional accommodations, which may be reserved individually or as a duplex suite, are available at our 4 Step Lane property. The Step Lane property is located within 100 yards of our 8 North Water Street location and enjoys the same amenities along with a refrigerator and coffee maker. Guests enter a handsome foyer from a covered porch overlooking the front lawn, and are treated to a comfortably chic living room with a large screen television, DVD player and VCR.
